Stable flies resemble house flies but have a sharp, pointed beak that allows them to bite. Typically, they feed on livestock such as cattle and horses, but during rainy periods, they may come indoors and bite humans.
More than just an annoyance, stable flies are a problem for pets and livestock. They thrive in areas with moist, decaying organic matter, including manure and urine-soaked straw. Reducing waste in these areas is essential to minimize their population.
Flesh flies (Sarcophaga species) are larger than your typical house fly and are known for their checkered abdomens. Their thorax is gray with black stripes. Rather than laying eggs, flesh flies deposit live maggots. These maggots are often found in decaying meat, animal carcasses, and dog droppings. Flesh flies are commonly seen near dead animals or snails.
Flesh flies can complete their life cycle in just eight days. They are frequently found near decaying organic matter. If you see slow-moving flies with checkered abdomens, a flesh fly problem may be present.
Our fly control service starts with an extensive inspection of your property to identify problem areas. We check spots like trash bins, standing water, and decomposing materials where flies may breed. Our team is trained to detect various species, such as blow flies and drain flies.
We also inspect plumbing systems for any issues like leaks that might attract flies. Using advanced tools, we find larvae and adult flies in hidden areas. This allows us to create a customized treatment plan to address your specific fly infestation.
Before we arrive, please clean both the indoor and outdoor areas to help us identify the extent of the infestation. Our technicians will inspect your property, ensuring no underlying issues, such as plumbing problems, are contributing to the fly issue.
For drain flies, we use effective products to remove larvae and flies from the drains. We spray around food preparation areas, avoiding direct contact with surfaces. Fly traps are placed in key spots where flies are likely to gather.
Sacramento Pest Control offers monthly inspections and treatments targeting flies in high-risk areas such as drains and garbage zones. Our service prevents flies from becoming a major issue.
We use eco-safe products to treat species like drain flies and stable flies, ensuring effective, long-lasting protection. With consistent monthly care, your property will remain a fly-free zone all year long.
